Nikki and the Professor had to share a TV — and yeah, it turned into a big hilarious mess

CBS Television Distribution

What happens when you're trying to win a free TV, and someone gives you the answer to the contest question? Does that mean it's their TV since you wouldn't have won without them? Or do you all share the $8,000 flat screen? In The Parkers episode "And the Winner Is...", Nikki and Professor Oglevee must deal with that problem while Freestyle Unity battles it out to become America's next superstar.

Let's start from the beginning. The episode opens with T telling Kim and Stevie that American Superstar, a talent competition, is holding auditions soon, and the group should apply. Whoever wins gets a recording contract and $50,000, which would help the group make waves in the music industry. Nikki asks them if they have a boombox, saying, "I don't wanna miss the 'Phrase that pays,' Q103.4 is having a contest where you could win a plasma TV."

Here's where things get funny and complicated. Freestyle Unity shows up to the audition ready to sign up, not knowing that American Superstar only want single acts. Kim, Stevie, and T vowed not to sign up separately, just for the camera to cut to a scene of Kim signing up. While this is happening, Nikki is at home waiting to be the fifteenth caller. She starts dancing, which causes the building to shake like an earthquake, and that alerts the Professor to go to her apartment.

"Ms. Parker, did you feel that earthquake? It had to be a 5.9," he said while out of breath. Nikki insists she didn't feel anything and rushes to her phone to call into Q103.4 and is the fifteenth caller. She had to answer, "What was MC Neckbone's real name?" The Professor gave her the correct answer, which resulted in Nikki winning the TV. This leads to an argument about who deserves to keep it, so they end up sharing it (with Andell suggesting that the Professor keeps it in his place). Meanwhile, Kim sees that T and Stevie also signed up for the talent competition.

This all happened in the first ten minutes of the episode.
