Drew Sidora felt bad for Melanie AND her character on The Game

"Everybody plays the fool sometimes; there's no exception to the rule." Those lyrics in the Main Ingredient's song "Everybody Plays the Fool" (1972) are scarily accurate. The song is about getting over heartbreak and saying it happens to everyone; you're not alone but need to move on.

Of course, this is a real-life topic, but it's also something that's often incorporated into drama scripts. Drew Sidora, who played herself on The Game, vouches for this experience, both in real life and for her character in the series. However, if you ask any fan of the series if her character deserved to feel bad, they'll say, "No, she knew what she was getting herself into."

Drew Sidora (her character of the same name) was the most hated woman on television in the early '00s when her character became "the other woman." She caught feelings for Derwin Davis, even after knowing that he had a girlfriend, Melanie. Derwin was surely "sweet talking" her, telling the singer about his issues with Melanie as if their relationship wasn't much, but in the end, she was also still in the wrong.

The actress and reality star revealed, during an interview with Gossip on This in 2007 that she felt bad for her character and Melanie.

"A lot of women always come to me, and at moments, I felt bad for Melanie, but then at certain times, I felt bad for Drew's character. And because at some point a woman either has been in a relationship and the man cheated on them, you know which was the case with Melanie," she said.

"Or they were the woman that the man said that he was single and they have a relationship with you and then you found out that he actually had a girlfriend, or was engaged, or actually married, which I think all women experience at some point in their life. So for me it's like I've been on both sides. I've been on the Drew side and I've been on the Melanie side."
