What happened to John Henton after Living Single?

John Henton starred as Overton Wakefield Jones on Living Single, the loveable and goofy handyman who was the perfect spouse of Khadijah's cousin Synclaire. The character was also Kyle Barker's best friend and roommate, who humbled the conceited stockbroker from time to time.
The '90s series remains one of the most impactful Black sitcoms of all time, opening doors for many to follow. Viewers wanted Living Single to last for more than five seasons, not wanting to give up their on-screen best friends. However, each cast member went on to do great things. Henton's most well-known performance comes from the series, but he also starred in another sitcom directly after it ended.
He showcased his versatility by snagging a massive role on The Hughleys, which was an opportunity to show the world that he could thrive in more than just silly-goofy parts, although his character, Milsap Morris, was humorous.
The actor also made one-off appearances in One on One, The Parkers, Hannah Montana, Love That Girl!, and more. When he wasn't in front of the screen, Henton was writing and producing. He even wrote an episode of BET's Comicview.
In 2000, Henton was involved in a serious car accident that badly deformed his face, but he was able to restore it through surgery. The comedian keeps his personal life private and has appreared on an episode of Erika Alexander and Kim Coles' podcast ReLiving Single. In the episode, he talks about a time he saved co-star Kim Fields from a possible stalker.
