Remember this Regina King appearance on Living Single?
Friends have "fallouts" all the time. That doesn't mean that's the end of the friendship, though. Sometimes, they need space for a while to realize their argument is childish and unnecessary. As the saying goes, "Distance makes the heart grow fonder."
In the Living Single episode "The Shake Up," viewers still witness the aftermath of a clash between Regine and Khadijah. After going on a talk show, it was revealed that the only reason Khadijah asked Regine to move in with her was because Regine's mom begged her.
Regine was under the impression that she was doing Khadijah a favor by moving in and felt silly about their business being aired on national television. So, to prove that she can handle life on her own, she moves into a run-down apartment, and Khadijah begins her search for a new roommate with her cousin, Synclaire (who doesn't want Regine to leave).
"Hi, I'm Zina, Russell's friend," a woman said as she entered their apartment. That woman is a young Regina King, who began her television career on the '80s sitcom 227.
"This place is huge, and y'all got furniture. I like that in a place." This comment got a side eye from Synclaire as the scene continued. After Khadijah states what she's looking for in a roommate, Zina says that she tries to stay away from carbs, sugar, and fattening food (the list goes on) as she pulls out a cigarette. Zina has bad credit and only learned to pay her bills on time because her money was being taken automatically to pay off her debts.
Khadijah clearly doesn't want to give her the room but acts as if she does when Regine comes downstairs to make her jealous. A fan-favorite line from Regina King in this role is, "I'm from the Bronx, and I work."
