Saul Williams might be Jedidiah in ''Sinners'', but we know him as Lynn's boyfriend on ''Girlfriends''

Imagine being able to play a poet in a drama and then, almost two decades later, star in — what critics are calling — one of the best original horror films of 2025 and beyond. Saul Williams is living that dream in reality, playing Jedidiah Moore in Ryan Coogler's Sinners, starring Michael B. Jordan and also Sivad on the hit '00s series Girlfriends.
While we can't confirm he's one of the evil supernatural (beings) going after Jordan's dual role characters, Smoke and Stack, we can confirm that he was Lynn's boyfriend on the Tracee Ellis Ross-led series.
Saul first appeared on the show in the season 3 episode "Take This Poem and Call Me in the Morning." Lynn's talent takes her to a poetry club in Crenshaw, where she is intrigued by a poet named Sivad. She claims to be in love, although the two just met, but she was already dating a guy she connected with two days prior at Olive Garden (Omar, played by rapper Common).
In her words, Sivad was captivating, mysterious and profound. "It's like he looked inside my head and understood thoughts I didn't know I had," she adds. Lynn falls for him although he's committed to celibacy, and she lies and says she is too. Omar grows jealous of Lynn's heart-eyes for Sivad after she tells the fellow poet that their connection isn't what he thinks.
So, Omar reveals Lynn's promiscuity, prompting her to come clean about her past. She and Sivad find common ground and decide to build upon their relationship — which only lasts for five more episodes.
