Which Girlfriends character are we describing?

CBS Television Distribution
"Friends... how many of us have them?"

Whodini turned a simple word with a ton of responsibility into a popular song. Another lyric includes, "The ones we can depend on...friends." A real friend is someone who is like an extended family member. You're supposed to be able to trust them, and you all fight like siblings, but the love is always there.

In the early 2000s, Girlfriends viewers were introduced to Joan, Toni, Maya, and Lynn, four friends in their mid-to-late Twenties in different phases of their lives. They were catty, constantly bickering and straining their friendship until Joan and Toni's ended completely. Oh, and don't forget William, Joan's best friend and the only guy in the group (he also dated Joan and Lynn, an absolute mess).

While Gen Z and Millennials are nostalgically examining the characters' friendship on social media, let's see if you can guess which one we're describing.

SIDENOTE: We're also including recurring characters who appeared a handful of times on the show.
  1. "Motherly; desperately wants to get married; the responsible one"
  2. "Freeloader; various masters degrees; promiscuous"
  3. "Bold; always speaks her mind; cheated on her husband"
  4. "Gold digger; expensive taste; never takes accountability for her actions"
  5. "Married into the group; gold digger; attempts to keep William away from the girls"
  6. "The short guy; a doctor; moved to New York for a job and to get away from his wife"
  7. "The fifth member of the group; falls in love with Joan; a lawyer"
  8. "Married to Maya; works at the airport; started his own business later in the series"
